Marmalade Game Studio has just announced an exciting new update to your average game night - MONOPOLY for iOS and Android now has a video chat feature. The highly anticipated update elevates the digital board game experience by boosting its social aspect, bringing the universally loved game to all players no matter where they are in the world.

The in-game video chat feature for MONOPOLY lets players compete face-to-face without resorting to other third-party video conferencing apps. Players can now add friends in social groups and organize their games from chat to video seamlessly.

"At Marmalade we aim to bring people together through quality gaming experiences. That goal is literally at the core of everything we do, so building video chat into our games has been an essential next step for a long time," says Cristina Mereuta, COO of Marmalade Game Studio. "Until now, video chatting while gaming has meant using multiple additional apps. These have been necessary for the video itself, and pre-game text chat while you work out when to play and exchange play codes. All of this can get confusing. By bringing pre-game text chat and in-game video chat into the game app itself, we’re making it simple for people of all ages to come together and play."

There's just something inherently exhilarating about seeing your friends' reactions when you snag both Park Place and Boardwalk right under their noses, don't you think? "With this new feature in MONOPOLY, you can bankrupt your grandmother while sitting on a bus, and see the look on her face while you do it - all in-game of course!" Mereuta adds.

If you'd like to experience playing MONOPOLY with your pals while staying at home, you can download the game on the App Store and on Google Play for $3.99. Simply update to the latest version to enable the video chat function.
