What do you do when your retro release on iPhone receives rave reviews, including a much coveted Platinum Award from Pocket Gamer? More than likely, you ready its follow-up.
Rumour has it that LucasArts has taken the unsurprising move of working on a 'special edition' of the now almost twenty year old Monkey Island 2 for iPhone, Kotaku claiming the publisher could well unveil its planned release at this week's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
We're actually betting on Tales of Monkey Island for GDC. We'll see who gets it right.
Kotaku also claims the updated version might well come with "all-new graphics and audio", which would hardly be surprising given the original's fresh look when it hit the App Store last July.
Its expected release marks something of a revival for the point-and-click genre, Monkey Island's release having been followed up on iPhone by updated launches of two classic Revolution franchises, Beneath a Steel Sky and Broken Sword.
