Regular readers might remember a story from earlier in the week regarding a Chinese-made Mario Kart clone.

At the time, we thought Mole Kart (previously known as Mo Er Kart) might have difficulty making it past the App Store approval team.

Well, it turns out that we were wrong.

As of right this second, Mole Kart is available for download from the App Store on iPhone and iPad.

Illegal maneuver

It seems as though the title's reference to burrowing sightless creatures is fooling no one, mind. At the time of writing, every single one of the reviews on the App Store mentions Mario Kart in its description.

What is perhaps more interesting is that the reviews are extremely positive. It seems that people have been waiting so long for Nintendo to port Mario Kart to iOS that even an unlicensed knock-off like Mole Kart is better than nothing.

If you do want to take Mole Kart for a spin, we'd suggest you grab it quickly, for legal documents are surely heading Taomee's way at this very moment.

Mole Kart is a Universal app, and can be purchased from the App Store for $2.99 / £1.99. For now.
