Sony showcases touchscreen track-creation for ModNation Racers Vita

In the wake of E3, Sony has revealed new details on ModNation Racers Vita (that’s a working title by the way).

The game will be an updated version of the PSP and PS3 versions, popular for their mix of cuddly 3D kart racing and heavy customisation options, reminiscent of LittleBigPlanet.

Sony has released a video in which Brandon Akiaten, a producer at its Santa Monica studio, showcases some of the editing tools players will be fiddling with come release.

Of particular interest is how you'll be able to use the touchscreen to draw a new track in seconds. Then, using the ‘Omni edit’ feature, you'll be able to add painted landscape features such as lakes and trees.

From day one you'll be able to race on the more than 2 million creations that are already floating around the PS3 ether.

We gave the PSP version of ModNation Racers a Bronze Award back in May last year.
