Budding mobile game developers are once again invited to spin their concepts up for a panel of peers at the second Channel 4 and Golden Joystick Mobile Game Pitch competition.

EA Mobile attended the inaugural event last year, though this marks Nokia's first time on the panel of judges. Developers will be given the chance to impress the industry leaders with innovative gaming concepts for the mobile platforms with an emphasis being placed on concepts such as GPRS, Bluetooth, wireless LAN, accelerometers and interaction with third-party platforms such as social networks.

Nine games will be shortlisted by the judging panel and the developers invited to a day of workshops at the Channel 4 offices in central London on October 29th. The day will culminate in a pitching session where the developers will present their concepts to the panel, who will then decide on a winner.

The winning developer will be honoured at the Golden Joystick Awards on October 31st and will win £1,000 cash from Channel 4 plus a hothouse placement with EA Mobile and Nokia. Each of the nine shortlisted developers will also receive a Nokia N96 handset preloaded with a load of games.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
