Minecraft will arrive on Vita in August as a PS3 cross-buy title with online play

After months of keeping us waiting, Mojang has announced a bunch of new details regarding the PS Vita version of Minecraft.

The biggest news is that it will arrive for Vita in August this year at a price of $19.99.

It will be a cross-buy title, so whether you purchase it on PS3 or Vita it doesn't matter, you'll get the other version either way.

If you already own the PS3 version then you'll be able to transfer any DLC you've bought to the Vita version, too.

You'll also be able to transfer saves between PS3 and Vita.

Mojang says that it's also working with Sony to ensure those who bought the Blu-ray disc version of Minecraft on PS3 can upgrade to the digital versions. There'll be more on that nearer release.

Lastly, it's been confirmed that Minecraft on Vita will be the same as the latest version on PS3 and will include online play.

So there you have it. Minecraft on Vita in August. Get excited in whatever way you deem fit.
