Exactly three months after the seminal side-scrolling adventure game Mega Man hit the Japanese 3DS eShop, Capcom's brutal platformer is all set to touch down in the UK and US eShops.

Mega Man was released on the NES way back in 1987, so if you want an easy way to play the game that spawned over 100 sequels, you will get your chance tomorrow.

Generally considered one of the best NES games of all time, Mega Man (known as Rockman in Japan, fact fans) is a traditional platformer with a difference.

Rock hard

You see, players may choose to play the six stages on offer in any order they want, receiving the end boss's weapon as a reward for success.

The challenge lies, thus, in picking the best route through the game - an exciting concept considering the strict linear nature of most games at the time of Mega Man's debut.

However, the game will test your gaming ability to the limit. It's hard. Hard as rock... man. Ahem.

If you're in the mood for some classic side-scrolling platforming action, download Mega Man from the 3DS eShop for £4.49 / $4.99 from tomorrow.
