Mega Jump 2 is set to bounce onto iPad and iPhone next week

Mega Jump 2 is a game about jumping upwards forever.

If you were of a romantic bent, you could see it as a game about forever striving for your dreams. If you were me, on the other hand, you'd probably think of it as a metaphor for your endless failures.

Either way, Mega Jump 2 is shiny, new, and set to hit the App Store next week.

The game is the similarly designed sequel to one of the first crop of perpetual leapers, Mega Jump. So, you're a cute squishy cartoon thing, and you need to bounce your way up a series of platforms.

Rather than being level based, however, this time around the potential for leaping is infinite. There are Jetpack Joyride-style challenges to complete as you go to keep things fresh, though.

Different monsters boast different powers, too. As you unlock more cutesy-wootsy beasts, then, you'll be able to play in ever-so-slightly different ways.

By grabbing tokens hidden along your route, by the way, you will unlock a fever mode in which you blast through the level in double-quick time.

Furthermore, there are coins to collect, boosts to purchase, and upgrades to unlock. And you can spend your hard-earned real-life money on digital goods, if you're so inclined.
