I've always been fascinated by every single Marvel game out there, and I have to admit - Marvel Mystic Mayhem kinda threw me off at first glance. It sort of resembles Raid: Shadow Legends on one hand, but on the other, it's also quite easy to pick up and play, even if you're completely new to the MCU. We all start out as fresh-faced beginners at one point or another, but rather than having to start from scratch, wouldn't you love to get a head start?

To learn exactly how to get all your ducks in a row, this Marvel Mystic Mayhem beginners' guide should come in handy. Don't worry; there are no actual ducks - just heroes, and some super popular ones at that!

We'll dive into several tips and tricks you should pick up as soon as you start playing to make your progress a lot faster. So, buckle up, because here we have all the Marvel Mystic Mayhem tips you'll ever need.

Tip #1 - Prioritise leveling up by doing Story Mode

Your player level is one of the most important things to keep track of in the early stages. It not only unlocks new game modes and features, but also dictates the maximum level your characters can have. That's key if you want to challenge tougher stages.

The fastest (and most efficient) way to increase your level is by pushing through the main story modes as far as possible - oh, and don't forget about whatever side stories you unlock. Complete these too.

Do your dailies!

Main story aside, you should always make sure to complete all of your daily and main missions. These tasks give you some XP and other resources, which are going to come in handy.

Oh, and make sure you read the tasks in your Dream Pass (Battle Pass) to know exactly what you need to do to claim extra rewards from it.

Tip #2 - Master managing your premium resources

One of the most common mistakes beginners make (myself included when I first started) is using their resources mindlessly, especially on Dreamgems.

I know - it's super tempting to use them on summons, but the best use of your premium currency is energy refreshes. When you refresh your energy, you can basically farm a lot more dungeons, and thus speed up your character progression.

I strongly suggest you avoid spending your Great Keys on summoning banners unless you have at least 80 saved up. The threshold for a guaranteed top-tier hero is that, so if you want a specific hero, just save your Great Keys.

Don't worry, you can still progress with the heroes you have (probably).

Tip #3 - Get some summons in

shadow keys used for summoning

Summoning is a core part of Marvel Mystic Mayhem, but it's important to understand the different types of keys and banners.

Great Keys are used in the rate-up banners, which is where you will find specific powerful heroes with an increased drop rate. The reason I mentioned saving 80 Great keys before is that after 80, you can get your "pity" - which is a guaranteed drop of the rate-up hero.

If you just keep summoning and the banner disappears, it could be all in vain - the rate-up hero changes, and you might not need it.

Shadow Keys are used in the standard banner, and you can use them however you like. They can be obtained by completing your campaign missions. If you want to summon, just use your Shadow Keys.

Tip #4 - Farm every dungeon

To upgrade your heroes, the only way to do it reliably is by farming dungeons. Go for the Battle Bonanza dungeon to get gold and tactic reports (which are used for levelling up your heroes), and if you want to further upgrade your heroes, go for Treasure Hunt.

If your goal is to upgrade your heroes' skills, farm the Rune Raid.

One of the best things you can do is, on weekends, go farm them all. Think about what exactly you need, and spend your energy there.

Tip #5 - Don't forget about the other game modes

all games modes available

To keep a steady progress, even while you are running your story mode, you should also focus on other game modes. They play a huge role in hero upgrade, especially the Nightfall daily boss.

This one is a must-do, since the rewards you get from it are Merlin Stones. You will need these to upgrade your heroes' star ratings. You shouldn't use these right away on random heroes, but instead focus on saving them up and using them for some S+ tier heroes.

7-Day Missions are a must!

Additionally, make sure to complete the 7-Day Missions as soon as they become available. From these missions, you can get amazing rewards, including Storm (the hero). You want to complete these as soon as possible, because you don't want to miss out on any of the rewards.

Tip #6 - Focus on your best heroes

A hero's power isn't just about their level; it's about EVERYTHING. That includes their talents (skills), artifacts, and pretty much anything else you can imagine. You shouldn't spend your resources on random heroes - just on the best ones.

You should spend your resources on levelling up 1 or 2 heroes at the start, and if you can't seem to get some of the top-tier ones, then just level up a third one. Don't level it up too much - just enough so you can pass a level (especially if it's not a meta hero). There's a tier list for Marvel Mystic Mayhem that's sorting them by power in case you're unsure which ones are worth upgrading.

Once you get a really good hero, then you can spend a lot of your resources into maxing them.

Tip #7 - Additional tips and tricks for MMM

Here are a few extra tips on things you should and shouldn't do in Marvel Mystic Mayhem:

  • Spend your Dreamdust monthly on Keys - Shadow Keys and Great Keys.
  • Spend your Dreamsand on Highlights or Great Keys.
  • If you plan on going full F2P, then maybe don't spend all your Dreamgems on energy - spend only if you need it.
  • Give your best artifacts to your best DPS - they should be the priority, then the rest of the team.
