Mario & Sonic at the Olympics: first DS trailer
It's stylus-tastic, of course
The Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has now been released, but the DS game is a lap or two behind its console cousin. Still, we were cheered up by the arrival of a video of the game in action today. Check it out here.
The video shows how the controls will work in certain events. So, for instance, sprinting is done by rubbing the stylus back and forth on the touchscreen as rapidly as possible, and the hammer throw requires you to move it around in the a circular motion until you release the confusingly named weight.
The video also shows Peach indulging in a spot of diving and Tails taking to the archery field, an event that's also controlled with the stylus. How? By pulling back a virtual bow with it, of course.
The full set of 16 Olympic events and 16 characters (as seen in the Wii version) are featured. Plus there are eight 'dream events' which include table tennis and basketball. We've previously covered the game's content, should you wish more information.
A release date for Mario & Sonic is still a little vague and down as 'early 2008'. Which is a shame because we can't wait to see Mario in his fencing gear, sparring with Luigi and Sonic. Click 'Track It!' to be in first place when further news arrives.
