Marble Galaxy rolls onto mobile

Would you lose yours if you played in space?

The rush to recreate nostalgic childhood games on mobile phones continues unabated.

Yesterday we heard about phone game versions of Jacks and Arm Wrestling. Today Marble Galaxy pings into view.

It's a simple enough concept. You shoot coloured marbles from a launcher at the bottom of the screen towards holes of the same colour, aiming to negotiate the walls, bumpers, accelerators, brakes and other obstacles on the way, or else bouncing off them to score mega-points.

Hmm. Marble Galaxy sounds a bit more like pinball to us, but publisher InfoSpace (also the maker of Pub Pool) says the game will combine the simplicity of marbles with the "precision and accuracy" of pool. (To be fair they've never seen us play pool.)

Anyway, Tutorial and Quick Game modes are backed up by a Career Mode, where you can take on intergalactic marbles-experts on their home planets. And there was you thinking your phone had a rubbish signal strength.

Marble Galaxy hits all the major phone operators this month.
