Yostar Games has announced a new collaboration event within Mahjong Soul, welcoming the movie "Fate/stay night [Heaven's Feel]" to the mobile mahjong game. It's all very hush-hush at the moment, but in case you're unfamiliar with the anime trilogy, it's a narrative based on the elusive Holy Grail - in this case, the container holds unlimited power and can grant anyone their greatest wish.

If you're thinking that it's a little odd for something like this to be holding a crossover with mahjong, you're likely not alone. But Mahjong Star isn't actually your average mahjong game - it also features lovely anime characters and themed emotes you can unleash on your opponents in real time. Popular Japanese voice actors lend their vocal chops to boost the overall experience, with Maaya Uchida and Ami Koshimizu also part of the lineup.

To me though, what makes this stand out is how, much like a gacha, you can actually build bonds with the characters here - offer them presents and raise your bonds with them to unlock extra tidbits like voices and avatars for some added pizzazz.
