With over 75 million downloads, Luxor is by far and away the #1 marble-shooting match-3 game.

It was always going to appear on the App Store, so the fact it's the first game from ngmoco's Plus+ Publishing arm is the real surprise of the press announcement entitled "Plus+ & MumboJumbo partner to publish Luxor for iPhone & iPod touch".

Plus+ Publishing was set up as the part of ngmoco that handles the Plus+ social networking platform, as well as publishing externally-developed games which take advantage of it and ngmoco's publishing prowess.

At present, the Plus+ platform only seems be available to developers who are also prepared to be published by Plus+ Publishing.

In terms of Luxor on iPhone and iPod touch, it will use the Plus+ platform to enable players to send challenges to friends via Facebook and Twitter, get a ranking on friend and global leaderboards, as well as earn points.

"Plus+ publishing is delighted to team up with a talented company like MumboJumbo to launch our first title," said Simon Jeffery, Plus+'s chief publishing pfficer. "This award-winning franchise will be the first of many top caliber games that players will enjoy on Plus+."

"It's a thrill for us to bring Luxor to the iPhone and iPod touch with Plus+," echoed Mark Cottam, MumboJumbo's CEO.

"We are delighted to work with Plus+, drawing on the company's unrivaled marketing capabilities as well as the Plus+ Network player benefits that will enhance the Luxor experience on our fans' favourite device."

Luxor is due for release on the App Store during August.
