The legend returns?

King's Bounty: Legions hitting iOS and Android in late June/ early July

It was originally intended to be out quite a bit earlier than this, but Nival has told me that the mobile versions of King's Bounty: Legions will be finally marching their way onto the respective app stores in late June / early July.

King's Bounty: Legions is a socially-focused spin-off from the well-respected PC strategy series, which sees you recruiting monsters into an army and pitting them against other foes/players in turn-based combat.

Despite its Facebook origins, Legions plays out a lot like the original series, with only movement around the map significantly simplified (it’s now just a click/tap to reach each location).

There is, naturally, an energy system in place to prevent you playing too much in one sitting (and, coincidentally, you also have the option of buying more with IAPs if you’re impatient). The mobile versions of the game also link into Zuckerberg’s social network, so you won’t need to start afresh if you’re an old player.

I spent a good month playing the Facebook version last year and enjoyed it, so if you’re looking for a little bit more of a ‘hardcore’ social title, you’d do well to keep an eye out for this one.
