King’s Bounty: Legions for smartphones will be compatible with Facebook game

A spokesperson for Nival has told Pocket Gamer that the company will be combining the Facebook and smartphone servers for its upcoming ‘hardcore’ social game King’s Bounty: Legions, after all.

The statement reads: “All mobile versions [Android and iOS]... are fully compatible with players joining in from Facebook.”

"The goal for Nival was to have all the Kings Bounty: Legions-users playing on the same servers to increase the pool of foes for matchmaking, and the team really achieved this for all platforms from iOS to Android and tablet to desktop."

The statement contradicts earlier assurances I received at Gamescom that the two versions of the game are running from separate servers - which I suspect may be due to crossed wires between the North American and Russian divisions of the company, the latter of which wasn't at the show.

It’s good news for Facebook gamers already playing the game on the social network in any case, since it means they won’t have to start the (surprisingly meaty) PvE story again once it launches on smartphones and tablets later in the year.
