Fight new bad guys and field new heroes in upcoming Rising Tides update for Kingdom Rush: Frontiers

Ironhide Game Studio will update its Silver Award-winning tower defence sequel Kingdom Rush: Frontiers with new levels, villains, and heroes later in the week.

The update, which is called Rising Tides, will go live on the App Store on August 1st, and will contain a slew of fresh beach-based battles for you to participate in.

The two new heroes, meanwhile, are called Kutsao and Karkinos. Karkinos is a giant growling sea turtle with a cannon on his shoulder, while Kutsao is a kung fu monk with a top knot and the ability to change into a variety of different chi-powered creatures.

As far as those new levels are concerned, though, we haven't got much to go on outside of the update trailer (posted above). Judging by the "Rising Tides" name, mind, we suspect there are going to be some fishy surprises along the way.

By the looks of things, in fact, you're going to have to contend with disfigured whales belching out troops on the beaches and streams of angry sea beasts out for revenge.

There's no word yet on the Android version of Kingdom Rush: Frontiers, by the way, although Ironhide has stated in a post on its Facebook page that it's "working hard" to port the game to 'droid phones.

The Rising Tides update to Kingdom Rush: Frontiers will be available on August 1st in the App Store. We'll let you know if it's going to be a paid or a free update as soon as we have some more details.
