Kingdom Eighties, the latest release into the strategic tower defense meets city-builder series, opens pre-registration for upcoming release
As a follow up to their now rather expansive and very popular strategic management series, developer Fury Studios has opened pre-registrations for the new Kingdom title; Kingdom Eighties. As the name suggests, this new entry sends you into the 1980s of all settings, where you must defend your high school from nightmarish creatures every night while you build up your settlement and upgrade your defences.

If you’ve played any game from the Kingdom series, you’ll be familiar with the gameplay on display here. You bike around your small portion of the map and create structures such as barracks for soldiers, defences like walls or turrets, and other various buildings that will have different effects on your camp. It acts as a sort of distilled real-time strategy experience in small chunks, where each night gets progressively tougher and it’s up to you to keep up with the increasing waves of enemies.
When it comes to the new setting of the late 1980s, it’s a curious change, as Kingdom has mostly circulated around feudal settings such as ancient China or a general non-descript European Middle Ages type of vibe, but it’s certainly a new choice that is interesting enough to warrant checking out the new title.
While previous Kingdom games have held the capability for co-op play, Kingdom Eighties is more focused on being a tight single-player experience, so there's no fear of always online or anything like that. Instead, it's just you and the recruits you gather to help you combat your foes. It guarantees a solid tower defence meets city-builder experience that is sure to delight fans of both genres alike.
So, whether a fan of this now rather large franchise or a fan of tower defence/real-time strategy titles, Kingdom Eighties might just be the game for you. You can check it out by pre-registering at either of the links below.
