Nintendo and HMV hosting Kid Icarus: Uprising multiplayer events across the UK

Nintendo has announced that a number of Kid Icarus: Uprising multiplayer events will take place in HMV stores around the UK, starting this Saturday at 12pm.

The events, which you'll need your own 3DS for, will see you compete against the "expert" Kid Icarus: Uprising Battle Squad for fame, fortune (not really), and, of course, prizes.

Everyone who enters will nab a free limited edition poster, but if you manage to beat the squad, you'll earn yourself a pack of Kid Icarus: Uprising AR Cards.

Nintendo is also planning to launch a free Twitter prize draw for one of six £50 HMV vouchers. To enter this, simply have your photo taken with the Squad in HMV and tweet it to @KidIcarusUK along with the hashtag #KidIcarusBattleSquad. Winners will be chosen at random, so you have as much chance as anyone else of winning.

Naturally, these events will be a great place to StreetPass with other Ninty fans. Check out the full list of events below.

HMV Oxford Circus - Saturday April 28th

HMV Birmingham Bullring - Saturday May 12th
