But here it is, and now it's had another major update that adds new levels and music to this handheld adaptation of the best (and possibly only) rolling-a-ball-to-pick-things-up hit.

Gameplay-wise, if you've never played Katamari Damacy, this all may seem a bit confusing. But Katamari Damacy Rolling Live provides all the simple charm of the original, where the aim is simply to form an enormous ball of objects progressing from tiny to massive!

Your objective beyond that is simply to turn your katamari into a 'star that lights up the sky.' You'll also be able to collect hidden items and uncover various 'cousins' that function as other player characters, all scored by the same jazzy nonsense of the original.

It's very welcome to see that Katamari Damacy Rolling Live is getting so much traction. No doubt because it's proving popular with players, as, despite the odd livestream framing device, this seems to be pretty much the exact same as the cult classic, which so many grew up enjoying.
