Just Cause Mobile, the mobile instalment in the popular sandbox action franchise, gets delayed again

After an initial release date of 2021, the mobile edition of the popular sandbox action game Just Cause, aptly named Just Cause Mobile, was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, it has now been further delayed out of 2022 according to the official Twitter account.

While this doesn’t bode particularly well in most cases, the tweet seems to confirm the anticipated mobile version of one of Square Enix’s more popular franchises is still in development, so don’t give up hope yet! If we’re lucky, I’d like to think that all these delays will give the game plenty of time to become the masterpiece we all hope it will be.

In case you aren’t super familiar, Just Cause is a bit of a cult classic open-world sandbox action series that sees you liberating islands from various different factions utilizing nothing but pure destruction. These games are hectic, explosive, and a ton of fun, with a large swathe of weaponry and vehicles you can use for all your destructive pleasure.

The mobile edition has not revealed too many of its cards, with the trailer above being one of the only looks at the game we have. However, given it’s a mobile version, it’s safe to say Just Cause Mobile will feature a large open world with a ton of content and things to blow up alongside a decently engaging storyline. This is all speculation given we don’t have much to go off of, so take it with a grain of salt.

Still, while these delays are unfortunate, especially alongside the other anticipated Square Enix mobile release Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis getting delayed too, they might end up working in our favour and give the developers plenty of time to buff out any potential bugs or rough spots.

For now, we’ll just have to stay tuned for more information by tuning into the official website!
