In ancient times, artists used danqing, the red and blue-green pigments, to breathe life into scrolls and stories. Now, Infinity Nikki’s next update turns that timeless craft into something you can walk through.
Infinity Nikki’s version 1.8, aptly titled Danqing Season, launches July 30th and runs through September 2nd. It follows directly on the heels of Blue Tears, continuing the Sea of Stars storyline with an entirely new region and visual style. Nikki and Momo chase mysterious ripples that lead to Danqing Island, a secluded dreamscape where the rules of ink and reality begin to blur.
Danqing Island is no ordinary setting. Hooded mountains, mirror-like lakes, and misty bamboo forests create the feeling of stepping straight into a living scroll. A strange calm hangs in the air, disturbed only by the growing mystery of disappearing villagers. With guidance from the Seer, Nikki must explore this serene but uneasy world and uncover the truth hidden in its artistry.
A new boss also awaits, Inkshade: Painting Loong, a mythical guardian summoned once a year through a sacred ritual. According to tradition, an honoured artist must paint open the White Dragon’s eyes to keep the island safe. This ancient ceremony sits at the heart of Danqing Season’s lore and might hold the key to the island’s unravelling.
