The global version of the previously Japan-exclusive idol management game Idoly Pride has launched at long last. This new spin on the popular genre begins players into its world as the manager of an idol company who must train their various performers to become best in class, ranging from levelling up their vocal skills to their visual appeal and everything in between.

Idol management games have become quite a popular little subgenre within the larger gacha sphere of mobile gaming, with the likes of Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage and BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! showing that these sorts of games have more going on under the hood than just simply cute girls and good music. Instead, all of these games seem to have a heavy focus on character building and some excellently written stories.

Idoly Pride is no different in this regard. Players will be thrust into a management role for Hoshimi Productions, where they can then collect various idols from a gacha system. From there, it’s up to you to decide how to progress your company, levelling up your favourites or min-maxing the best characters to make sure that you become the biggest company in Japan.

This will be done by sending the girls to various different classes, customizing them yourself to make sure that they’re as beautiful as can be, and giving them proper direction when it comes time to perform their own musical numbers.

Of course, in between these bouts of gameplay, there will also be tons of story interludes that will break up the loop of the game. These story bits will let you learn more about each character and help you grow fonder of your employees, allowing you to discover what compels all of them to want to succeed within the idol industry.

So, if a well-written half-rhythm game half narrative-driven RPG sounds good to you, you can download Idoly Pride for free at either of the links below!
