Hunting Unlimited heads for mobile

No no, no no no no, no no no no, no no there's no limit (to the killing)

We're not sure what to make of hunting games, being lefty-leaning vegetarian types who wouldn't say boo to a goose without ensuring a counsellor was on hand in case it got a nasty shock.

Shooting animals to bits? It doesn't seem right, somehow. Even virtually.

Nevertheless, there's clearly a market out there for hunting games judging by the recent release of Gameloft's Big Range Hunting, while one of Glu Mobile's biggest ever games is Deer Hunter (although the latter has yet to come out here in the UK, presumably because we all watched Bambi as kids and remain traumatised to this day).

Anyway, THQ Wireless is the latest publisher to enter the hunting market with all guns blazing. Hunting Unlimited is a conversion of a PC game, which sees you shooting deer, elk, boar and moose in 50 different locations, each with its own terrain, weather and foliage.

You have four weapons to choose from – two bows, a rifle and a shotgun – and have to fill your trophy room with animal heads, upgrading your skills and tools as you progress through the game.

It sounds like there's plenty of depth, so while we might be too lily-livered for it (can't someone make Big Quorn Hunting?), click 'Track It!' for an alert when one of our more meat-minded reviewers gets their hands on Hunting Unlimited.
