Hotel Transylvania has a chance of being a good film tie-in

I'd never heard of the upcoming children's film Hotel Transylvania until today, so you may be a little surprised to learn I'm already excited about seeing what the official DS and 3DS game of the film holds.

That excitement isn't so much to do with the subject matter of the movie, though, but rather it's all to do with the developer in charge of the titles - WayForward, best known for the excellent Mighty Switch Force and Shantae.

The Hotel Transylvania tie-in will naturally follow the general plot of the film, which revolves around a hotel set up for a variety of classic monsters to - as the trailer puts it - "rest in peace".

In the press release announcing Hotel Transylvania, there's no mention of the game's genre - a rookie mistake. The presser does include references to "locations, puzzles, and boss battles", mind, so we're going to take a wild stab and say the game is a platform-puzzler.

There's no mention of a launch date in the press release, either - which is annoying - but we'd expect the game to be available alongside the film on September 28th.
