Italian developer Impressionware has unveiled its latest mobile game, called Hermit Crab. The underwater action game stars a heroic seahorse who...

Oh, alright, it stars a hermit crab. Just checking if you were paying attention!

Bernie the crab, then, has to reunite his family by scooting through 20 levels of seabed-based action. You're carried by the currents, with your aim being to finish levels as quickly as possible, collecting bonuses along the way.

Key selling points include the cartoon-like visuals, two different game modes, and pass-the-handset multiplayer feature. Meanwhile, Impressionware says the controls will stay one-thumb to ensure Hermit Crab appeals to as wide an audience of gamers as possible.

Neatly, the developer is also creating web content based on the game, including online comics (the first one's already up here) and mini-games.

Hermit Crab is due out later this year, and Impressionware is looking to sign up a publishing deal for the title.
