Bust your friend's melon with a busted melon in food-based brawler Healthy Weapon

Colourful cartoon brawler Healthy Weapon is revealing the violent side of vegetables to the world on Google Play right now.

A 2D scrapper from dev Ludosity, Healthy Weapon is looking to score points with casual fighting fans - especially those who enjoy local multiplayer.

The game features a roster of six characters (with two more waiting to be unlocked). Each young combatant has a different fighting style based on a specific fruit or vegetable.

For example, quiff-sporting youngster Baraden twirls carrots as if they were nunchuks, while the angry-looking Orka wields a pair of melons like cheerleaders' pompoms.

And since the 'attack' and 'jump' buttons are stacked on the side of the screen, it means two players can duke it out on the same device.

While the Healthy Weapon controls are undeniably simplistic, the character art is strong and the novel approach to shared-screen multiplayer is worth a look.
