Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home announces release date and new trailer

Time for some of what Harvest Moon does best

Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home announces release date and new trailer
  • Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home will launch on August 23rd
  • A new gameplay trailer has also been released
  • It shows off the fishing, mining and farming gameplay fans can expect

Upcoming mobile game Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home will release on August 23rd, developer Natsume Inc. has announced. In addition, the developer has released a new gameplay trailer showing off what fans can expect when they boot it up on their iOS or Android devices.

Harvest Moon should need little introduction, it's the game which launched a thousand cosy cottage builders after all. However, it's somewhat been overshadowed by spiritual successors. So fans and the developer alike probably have high hopes that Home Sweet Home will help reestablish Harvest Moon as that premier cosy game.

As for the gameplay, well, it's Harvest Moon, I don't know what you expect. There's farming, fishing and all the various cosy activities you can undertake, alongside a glimpse of the NPCs you can woo. Basically, if you're only familiar with spiritual successors like Stardew Valley, imagine that but in three dimensions and you're on the right track.

Full moon

I was one of the few people who didn't grow up with Harvest Moon, so I was surprised to see that the series has endured for so long. With how people speak so nostalgically about it you'd have thought it was only around for a brief tenure. But I have found that many of the newer games have had a lukewarm reception. So here's hoping Home Sweet Home can buck that trend and reignite the passion fans have for this series.
