Halfbrick Sports: Football is the latest pitch to try and get you onto their subscription service
Time for kick-off!

- Halfbrick Sports: Football offers furious 3v3 sports action
- But there's a catch, it's only on Halfbrick+
- Can this fast-paced sports sim pull you into this subscription service?
Ah, the beautiful game of football. Well, there's not much to say about it other than if you're not directly invested in every match it can be a bit of a slog. Not so in Halfbrick Sports: Football, which brings the action to the palm of your hand in fast-paced, furious 3v3 matches!
Coming March 20th for iOS and Android, Halfbrick Sports: Football promises to offer an alternative to more slow-paced, granular football simulations. It even takes the bold tack of deciding to do away with certain rules such as referees and even goalkeepers! It's all about the strikers in Halfbrick Sports: Football, and who can make it down the pitch faster.
Naturally, you'll get the chance to customise your own footballer and jump into matches against friends, matching in 3v3 either privately or with others. Coming from Halfbrick, the folks behind Jetpack Joyride, there's no shocker in this being a fast-paced, action-packed take on the beautiful game. But there is a catch to all this very appealing-sounding action, which is that this is on Halfbrick+.

You may remember us covering Halfbrick+ in the past with the return of fan-favourite Steppy Pants. This subscription service functions similarly to something like Netflix Games, offering access to a wide variety of titles for only the price of a subscription.
However, it's that factor which I feel may tackle Halfbrick Sports onto the pitch, so to speak. Halfbrick are certainly developers with a pedigree, given they developed bonafide mobile royalty Fruit Ninja; but at the same time, I'm not sure there are enough truly loyal players that they'll eagerly shell out the cash to play.
Still, that's not to say anything about the quality of this upcoming release. But if you want to get your sports fix another way, there are many more options out there. Why not dive into our list of the top sports games on iOS and Android for some options?
