When you start playing Gods & Demons, chances are you don't know where to spend your Diamonds, and what to focus on to have a great start. Well, you're in luck, because today's guide for Gods & Demons will help set you on the right path!

There are tons of events and things you can do and if you don't know where to start, all the tips I have shared below will shed some light on some of the most important aspects. From team building to where you can spend your Diamonds and what packs you should buy (if you do decide to do so), I have covered everything.

Of course, you can take everything with a grain of salt, because for me personally, this game is just fantastic. I have spent hours in it, pretty much since it was released, and tried and tested quite a few teams and heroes. I've also made mistakes, which I am hoping you will not make - hence the guide.

So, if you want to have the best start possible, let's start with the very basics.

Is the game P2W?

Gods & Demons is a gacha turn-based RPG, so you can expect it to have plenty of IAPs. However, if you are dedicating enough time and resources, and don't waste your Diamonds on useless things, you can have a pretty easy time even as a F2P player. Of course, you might not end up reaching the top player ranking (unless you spend some money or are insanely lucky), but you will manage to clear several story stages, climb in the Arena, and get some decent gear for your team.

You should also make sure to redeem all the latest Gods & Demons codes so you can get lots of free Diamonds and Golden Contracts, which will give you a head start.

Let's dive into the guide then, shall we?

Tip #1 - Save your Diamonds!

Diamonds and other afk rewards in Gods and Demons

One of the very first tips I have to share is in regards to your Diamonds. I can't stress just how important it is to save your Diamonds for the events, especially if you are a F2P player. Take for instance the event we had at launch, where you could get the S+ tier hero Indestructible Power King - Grox if you spent 2700 Diamonds on 10 pulls, did lots of summons, you eventually got it guaranteed.

Sometimes it is way better to skip on some summons even if you really want to, and spend them trying to get the guaranteed event hero (if it is a good one). I personally did not do this and missed out on some good stuff, so it's best if you don't do what I did. Try to hold your gacha impulses in!

What to spend your Diamonds on?

The best things to spend your hard-earned Diamonds on, especially if you are a F2P player are the following:

  • Super High Rebates (costs Diamonds and you get Contracts and several other goods)
  • Events
  • Shop (Golden Contracts on sale, 5* Hero Shards or gold equipment)

Tip #2 - Focus on one hero at a time

Heroes that give challenge rewards

This tip might be a little bit counterintuitive, but it is going to be huge. Eventually, you want to get some good Mythic heroes, but until you do, focus on upgrading your strongest hero. Try to level up your strongest (preferably something from the very top of our Gods and Demons tier list) to the highest level you possibly can, give them your best equipment, and then let them delete your opponents.

Once you've reached a comfortable place where you can one-shot the enemies with a hero, you can then move on to the next. Ideally, you will work on one hero at a time, so as to have a reliable damage output source.

Tip #3 - Progress through the story as much as possible

Team formation example in Gods and Demons

In the story mode, you can uncover the narrative and, perhaps more importantly, gain lots of resources. To progress quickly, you need to have a couple of strong heroes who can one-shot enemies (which is the previous point I made). I strongly recommend you try to progress as much as you possibly can in the story mode every single day, and once you reach a point where you cannot beat the enemies, wait and grind at that stage.

After a while, you should come back, claim your rewards and upgrade whichever heroes you have on your team to get more CP. The more you advance, the stronger the enemies, and the higher level you'll need to be. Don't forget to also ascend the heroes you are using if you can because that will greatly boost their power.

Oh, and don't be discouraged when you get stuck. It is not easy to pass all the stages, and it is definitely not easy to get them all in one go. You need to invest time, and since Gods & Demons has an AFK earnings feature, it goes without saying that it will take you some time.

Tip #4 - Don't miss any events and dailies

Daily rewards from completing all daily events

The in-game events are probably where you will spend 60% of your time. Aside from the story stages, these events are challenging, fun, and they give A LOT of rewards. I mentioned before saving your Diamonds for summoning your desired hero from the events, but what I didn't mention is that you will also get lots of Diamonds from events.

I recommend you don't miss a single one, because as a F2P player, every single resource and currency you get is going to come in handy.

Do all of your dailies and weekly quests

While we're at this, there is also a pretty extensive list of daily and weekly quests, as well as some Achievements that you want to complete. The dailies are where you will be getting free Contracts and lots of Diamonds, so try not to miss a single day.

Tip #5 - Team and hero synergies

Team synergies in Gods and Demons

Whenever you deploy a hero, you will activate a specific synergy. Each synergy depends on the hero traits, of which there are 5. I strongly recommend you form your final team based on this because it will give you a great advantage in battle.

You can go for the recommended teams, or you can form your own, but personally, I'd advise going for the following team, which is insanely good, and it activates the six God/Demon trait, which grants you an additional +36% HP and +24% ATK.

  • Indestructible Power King - Grok
  • Ashen Raven Spirit - Sefran
  • Shadow Thorn - Rachel
  • Abyssal Spear - Throxis
  • Resurrection Angel - Seraphel
  • Dark Soul Master - Arkanas

Tip #6 - Best packs to invest in

If you do decide to invest some money, there are a few packs you should be looking out for. I've mentioned them all here:

  • Star Ascension Deluxe Selection Bundle - This one is available once you start playing, and it lasts for roughly two weeks
  • Main Stage Growth Bundle - It gives you 50 Excellent Hero Shards, so you have a chance to get a good Legendary or Mythic hero (plus other goods and 680 VIP points)
  • Welcome Gift - which grants you Flame Quest - Flamia

You can also go for the passes, which give you rewards on a daily basis. I haven't listed them here because there are quite a few of them, but if you have the means, the passes are a great way to get guaranteed Diamonds every single day.

Tip #7 - More Gods & Demons tips and tricks!

Sky tower stage

Here are a few more Gods & Demons tips and tricks:

  • Complete as many Sky Tower stages as you can - when you can no longer advance, go out, and try again once you've increased your team CP.
  • Go to the Floral Wonderland and level up the garden as much as possible. The more CP you have, the higher level you'll be able to achieve. Also, don't forget to claim the rewards from there every day.
  • You should always have a Healer on your team. Having 1 healer and 1 tank is crucial if you want your team to survive.
  • When you battle in the Arena, try to find enemies who are weaker than you. Use the Refresh button as much as necessary.
  • Complete all the battles in the Epic Monument for additional rewards.
