Get your turn on Generals: Alien Colony

Award-winning mobile strategy game goes on sale

Get your turn on Generals: Alien Colony

We're all about the new here at Pocket Gamer. New news, new reviews, new pants every four days. But sometimes old can be the new new. If that makes sense.

Take Generals: Alien Colony. Developed by Impressionware, it originally came out back in 2005, yet last month it scooped the bronze medal in Samsung's Game Development Competition. Which explains why mobile games website 1001players.com has put the game back on sale.

We haven't covered it before, so thought we should rectify that. It's a turn-based strategy game that sees you playing either humans or aliens, fighting a series of missions to reduce the other side to space dust.

It has attractive top-down graphics, making it look like a space-based version of Glu's Ancient Empires games. It might not be brand new, but it's good to see gamers getting a chance to see how it stacks up against 2007's breed of mobile strategy titles.
