Korean games studio goes to the stock exchange to raise capital

Gamevil flotation announced

It's been a great year for Gamevil, which is one of the many mobile game companies to have successfully harvested the iPhone and App Store.

MocoNews is reporting that the company has filled for an initial public offering, and will start trading on the Korean stock exchange on July 30th.

840,000 shares will be offered at 15,000 KRW each (around £7.33) to raise capital in the region of 12.6 billion KRW (just over £6 million).

Founded in 2000, Gamevil has seen considerable success through its mobile titles such as Path of a Warrior: Imperial Blood, and received wide critical acclaim for the iPhone RPG Zenonia recently, as well as launching its first four titles for the Android platform. Its most popular franchise, Baseball Superstars, also saw cause for celebration recently when it hit 10 million global downloads.

Gamevil has yet to announce what it intends to do with the capital, though raising it evidently won't be much of a problem given the company's recent track record.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
