Galcon Fusion, indie developer Phil Hassey's space age strategy game, will be launching alongside iPad this Saturday, April 3rd.

Hassey contacted us to let us know that the game has been submitted and to pass along these beautiful high resolution shots of the game in action.

No doubt the new graphics are a big part of this iPad port's appeal, but it's the cross-platform multiplayer that has our attention.

The iPad version comes by way of an earlier PC and Mac release, which can connect together for multiplayer battles. Up to 12 players can duke it out online via wi-fi.

Naturally, there's a whole slate of features accompanying multiplayer, including chat. Look closely and you can spot text chat in the lower part of one screen.

Joining cross-platform play are a whopping eight singler-player modes like Stealth, Assassin, Crash, and Billiards. You may remember some from the enhanced Galcon Labs iPhone and iPod touch release.

Galcon Fusion will be available for iPad on April 3rd.
