Out at midnight - FTL: Faster Than Light is a massive deep space exploration sim that will have you glued to your iPad

We've been waiting a good long while to say this, but FTL: Faster Than Light just surfaced on the New Zealand App Store. This means it'll be hitting the UK and US at midnight tonight.

This is just the best news.

The game sees you flying a ship through space, encountering aliens, crashing into things, managing your crew, and taking care of the rooms in your ship. And it's a lot better than I just made it sound.

The iPad version includes all the extra content that should be going live in the PC version tomorrow, too, so you'll be up to date as soon as you get the game installed on your tablet.

FTL: Faster Than Light will set you back £6.99 / $9.99 once it lands later tonight. For a massive, clever, entertaining space-faring roguelike-ish adventure, that's a pretty damn good deal.
