To celebrate the two-year anniversary of strawberry-slicing phenomenon Fruit Ninja, Halfbrick has announced it'll be updating the game with a host of new features on May 24th.

The update will include new fruit types to slice, such as the time-increasing peach and "highly explosive" berries. It will also include the fictional 'Starfruit', which will be used as currency for purchasing items from Gutsu's cart.

That's because, along with the fresh fruit, there'll be an in-game shop that will be selling "exhilarating power-ups and never before seen super fruit". Hopefully, this doesn't also mean there'll be IAPs added.

There's also a new "ninja move" called Bomb Deflect in the forthcoming update. This can help you stay alive, although the features description doesn't go into much detail about this particular manoeuvre.

The update for Fruit Ninja looks like it'll be an Apple-only event going by the YouTube trailer tags. It'll go live on May 24th.
