Fortress Frontlines is out now on Android, bringing endless waves of action to mobile
Wavebreaker

- Fortress Frontline is out now on Android, from Sandsoft Games
- It's a wave-based roguelite tower defence that challenges you with hordes of enemies
- Upgrade, progress and compete to get the highest score
The tower defence genre is one that I feel has become a bit oversaturated, not helped by the fact it's used as a promotional tactic in so many adverts. But leave it to Sandsoft Games, the folks behind the excellent Pocket Necromancer, to throw their hat into the ring with their own take, as Fortress Frontlines is out now on Google Play!
Fortress Frontlines is as straightforward of an addition as you can get. It's just you, one side of the screen to hold, and hordes of enemies to cope with. Be they small and weak or big and tanky, you'll make your way through run after run, changing up your loadout as you go and unlocking permanent upgrades as you shoot for longer survival times.
Yes, ordinarily I'd be a little hard-pressed to find excitement for something like Fortress Frontlines. But Sandsoft Games are well-liked over here at PG Towers, and with its comfortingly cartoony art style, there's plenty to enjoy with Fortress Frontlines.

But wait! What else is there to enjoy mechanically? Well, heroes and rare cards boost your defence, while a global leaderboard lets you chart your rise to the top, or the middle in most of our cases, I suspect. Fortress Frontlines looks to firmly take the Vampire Survivors approach to roguelites, in the sense that the stronger you grow the flashier your attacks become.
