Acclaimed Ghibli-like platformer Forgotton Anne adds full MFi controller support

ThroughLine Games’ acclaimed platformer Forgotton Anne is the sort of game we don’t often see on mobile: Visually stunning, emotionally impactful, varied, and memorable, it’s a real treat for quality-starved mobile gamers everywhere.

It made quite a splash when it launched earlier this year for iOS, and has earned plenty of recognition including from the App Store which has just announced it as it's game of the day..The developer has continued to support it with meaningful updates and the latest one adds some smart player-friendly features including full MFi controller support, as well as PS4 and Xbox controller support for when iOS 13 eventually rolls out.

Switching between controller and touch mode couldn’t be easier; it’s as simple as touching the screen or pressing a single button on the controller. So just like everything else in Forgotton Anne, the new controller functionality has been polished to perfection.

If you’re yet to give it a go, the game tells the story of a human, Anne, stuck in a world of sentient household objects known as the ‘Forgotlings’. She’s tasked with heading out on an adventure to quash a potentially dangerous uprising. Along the way, she meets new friends and acquires magical powers. It’s part adventure game, part platformer, so you’ll use your newfound magical skills to traverse the environment and manipulate the world around you.

Over on the App Store, it’s currently sitting at a hugely impressive 4.7 stars. Critics were similarly fond of it, with most reviews praising its gorgeous visuals, excellent storytelling, and varied, memorable characters.

If you’d like to give it a go, you’ll find Forgotton Anne available for download now over on the App Store. It’s an absolute must-buy for Ghibli fanatics and lovers of a good story.
