Fly Effect Real 3D brings stereoscopic vision to the App Store

Or flatten the view with old fashioned 2D mode

Despite what the marketing materials say Fly Effect Real 3D isn't the first 3D game on the App Store; Low Grav Racer 2 HD had a similar option.

Yet, it is one of the first to offer such abilities: the rub being to get the most out of the flying game you have to already have a pair of 3D glasses knocking around in a drawer somehow.

Still, it does work in old fashioned 2D as well, so maybe we should switch from talking about the perceived depth and focus on what actually happens in the game.

Popping out at ya

Set in a steampunk underground universe, you get to race your craft around the 10 different levels as quickly as possible. As you'd expect, there are plenty of bonuses to collect as you zoom around.

Controls are accelerometer-based, and you can play each level in slow, normal, fast and extreme speed modes. High scores for each level and mode are handled by OpenFeint.

Currently available, priced 99c, €0.79 or 59p, if you buy Fly Effect Real 3D now, you're also promised two new worlds - Air and Water - each of which will contain 10 levels. These will ship in the next update, presumably as in-app purchases.

There's also a free Lite version available [iTunes link].
