The news that Flight Control HD is one of the launch games on iPad isn't, well, news, but we've managed to get hold of a couple of gems of additional data.

To recap, Flight Control HD has eight single-player maps; a range of multiplayer modes, including split screen versus, co-operative on one device, and co-op on two devices; all-new high definition graphics; and a range of other tweaks and improvements.

So what's new? Well, we now know that one of the new maps is called 'Snow,' and features variable wind directions. The other three new airfields are just described as 'HD'. We'll know more about what that means anon.

On top of all these extra maps and features, Flight Control HD also boasts a 3D mode, requiring you to put on a pair of red and blue glasses to see the planes hovering above the screen in a magical Avatar sort of way. (Glasses not included in the purchase price.)

Flight Control HD is available now, priced £2.99/$4.99.
