Earlier this morning, we reported that iPhone tower defence game Fieldrunners is coming to DSiWare. This news would have been considerably more surprising had Sony not already announced a version for the imminent PSP Minis range, but it still raised eyebrows in Pocket Gamer Towers.

Slightly more brow-raise-worthy is the news that Firemint’s 1.5 million-selling, genre-creating, recent-update-having classic Flight Control is also making its way to DSiWare.

Little is known at the moment about whether it will contain any extra features or how the game will make use of the second screen, but we can tell you that it’ll be along this October, and almost certainly at a higher price than the iPhone version's 59p.

When Flight Control broke the 1.5m sales barrier, Firemint's Robert Murray remarked, "There's still a lot more Flight Control to come." This, it seems, is what he meant.
