Final Fantasy XV: War For Eos launches in early access for select regions

The newest mobile spinoff of the popular RPG Final Fantasy XV is set to launch in Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Final Fantasy XV: War for Eos is the latest attempt at a strategy base builder set within the FFXV universe.

Coming out of seemingly nowhere, War For Eos is Square Enix’s next foray into the strategy genre on mobile, and this is not the first time they’ve tried to do so with the FFXV setting. If you’ll recall, Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire released a while back and was very similar in gameplay and structure. A New Empire however was rather, shall we say, infamous for not exactly hitting the right notes with fans of Final Fantasy XV, or the FF universe in general.

Either way, War For Eos has a chance to make that right and take the criticism fans gave to A New Empire constructively, using it to create the base building strategy Clash of Clans meets Final Fantasy game fans have been hankering for. For those of you in either Malaysia, Indonesia, or the Philippines, you have your chance to get your hands on it right now and see if it does exactly that. Global audiences, on the other hand, will have to wait to get their hands on the new title until a so-far unannounced date.

If you are one of the lucky few who get to go hands-on with War For Eos, you can find it specifically on Google Play for free. The game is currently unavailable for iOS, and there’s no word on when that may change either. Hopefully, that will come alongside a global release at some point in the near future. Until then, here’s hoping that War For Eos can get the formula right and give us the MMO strategy Final Fantasy game of our dreams.
