Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection running on PSP
Prepare to save the world... again
Screenshots have emerged showing Square Enix’s Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection running on the PSP.
The upcoming collection has received a Japanese release date of the 24th March. A Collector’s Edition featuring a guidebook, book, soundtrack, and original artwork will also be available.
This latest update of the classic features both the original game and the sequel Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, which was originally released as a WiiWare title and on Japanese mobile phones. Both games boast enhanced 2D graphics similar in style to the upgraded visuals of the PSP editions of Final Fantasy I and II.
The story is traditional fare and sees you take on the role of the Dark Knight Cecil who rebels against the Kingdom of Baron after he begins to question the king’s intentions, while the sequel picks up the story 17 years later and casts you as Cecil’s son, Ceodore.
The PSP edition marks the eighth platform that the classic role-playing adventure has been released on since its debut in 1991. The most recent release of Final Fantasy IV, on the Nintendo DS, received an impressive Gold Award from us when we reviewed it in 2009. Siliconera [via VG247]
