If you can't stand pay-to-win and other foul practices of free-to-play games then FFFFF2P might give you a little giggle.

Lumena developer Elevate Entertainment describes its upcoming game FFFFF2P as "partly satire, partly nostalgia, and partly an honest attempt to make a fun game in a F2P world."

You play as a little pixel guy as he attempts to rescue Princess Pixel from an evil ogre called Ug.

The twist is that to rescue the princess and win the game you don't have to complete levels like in Mario. No, you have to pay her ransom of a million coins.

Empty the vaults

Obtaining a million coins will take a lot of grinding. You earn coins by avoiding advert blocks that the Ug attempts to squash you with, you see. You can also stomp them for extra coins.

There is another option. At any point while playing you could give in and pay £1.99 / $2.99 in real currency.

There are also plenty of other power-ups and special items that you can spend your coins on. You can also grab them early through IAPs.

To be honest, the satire in FFFFF2P is appreciated but also seems self-defeating.

It's clearly an attempt to poke fun at the exploitative IAPs and heavy advertising found in some free-to-play games. But it falls flat as it becomes indistinguishable from the subject of its satire.

FFFFF2P will be free for you to download when it arrives on iOS and Android on July 10th.
