The App Stork: Introducing Fridger, Totemo, Wargame and...
|

Put your thinking caps on people, this week the App Stork is only for the most gifted of new arrivals. We’ve got two puzzle titles and a tactical strategy game to keep your grey matter nice and pink.

The forums are busier than ever, however, so if you’d rather play games about blowing things up and shooting slimy creatures, you know where to go.

Remember, developers like feedback so if you found and enjoyed one of their games via our forums, do be sure to leave your thoughts behind. You might even brighten someone’s day. That’s all for now - check back next week for more brand spanking recommendations.

Fridger - Subtraction Studios

This game looks cool. Sorry, we’ll try that again. This arctic themed puzzler looks straightforward enough, but it’s always the simple ones that can have you begging for mercy.

It’s very much a one man show, too, so it’s nice to see that the indie dev scene is alive and well on the iPhone and hasn’t been swallowed whole by some larger companies on a midnight fridge raid (if you’ll excuse the painfully obvious pun).

It’s only 59p, so it should be in with a chance of bagging some interest.

Totemo
- Hexage Games

Totemo is from the company that brought us Buka, an understated gem and something of a favourite round these parts.

The teaser video for Totemo below doesn’t give much away, but the latest pics to be uploaded to the forum seem to suggest that this will be a match-'em-up puzzler.

It’s set to feature all of the glowing delight that’s characterised all of Hexage’s iPhone releases so far. You can expect more updates to be posted on the forum in the coming days and hopefully a release not too long after that.

Wargame - jemast software

Do you ever daydream about conquering Russia before nipping across Europe to have a pop at the eastern seaboard? If so, before you go and get that towering Napoleon complex looked at you might want to give Wargame a try.

It’s ostensibly a very slick iPhone variant of the tabletop rainy day classic Risk. Only this one doesn’t take up enough room to park a Range Rover and it’s only £1.79. You can even have a freebie go with the Lite version. Not exactly a tough tactical decision.
