Confirmed and unconfirmed Blizzard's mobile games
|

Blizzard is one of the biggest game companies in the industry - World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Diablo 3, StarCraft, and Hearthstone are only a small part of the games released by these developers. Honestly, it is impossible to find a gamer who has not played Blizzard games at least once.

Blizzard actively releases their projects for mobile devices as well. It's also worth noting that there's a lot of gossip in the media and on forums about new Blizzard games to be released on mobile in the future. This informative article collects all confirmed and unconfirmed Blizzard’s mobile games, so let’s get started!

BLIZZARD MOBILE GAMES AVAILABLE IN 2022

Currently, you can play only two Blizzard games on smartphones. The first one is Hearthstone and the second is Diablo Immortal, and both games are definitely worth your attention. Hearthstone is an incredibly popular strategy card game, and Diablo Immortal is an exciting action RPG based on the hit franchise. Continue reading the guide to find out more about these games.

Hearthstone

Hearthstone is the most popular mobile card game in the world. It was released in 2014, and since its release, this game has received a lot of changes because the game gets constantly updated. At the moment of writing, there are 4 game modes, and each one is like a different card game inside Hearthstone.

So, if you like strategies and cards, Hearthstone might be your cup of tea. Even though a lot of people consider it pay-to-win, there are still plenty of things you can do in this game absolutely for free.

Diablo Immortal

Diablo Immortal is the newest Blizzard video game, and the fact is that this is the first Blizzard game that was created especially for mobile devices. Also, Diablo Immortal is the continuation of the legendary Diablo series. Therefore, it was one of the most awaited mobile games of 2022.

It's important to know that Diablo Immortal is fast-paced. It can be compared with Wild Rift or other action-packed titles on mobile devices, so if you want to try it out, we recommend checking our Diablo Immortal beginner's guide.

CONFIRMED UPCOMING BLIZZARD MOBILE GAMES

Blizzard actively works with their audience. They reply to every info leak and give various hints about the future development of their games. If you are attentive enough, you can find tons of hidden hints in every video and podcast.

Currently, Blizzard has confirmed one release of an upcoming mobile game. Just head to their website to see a special section called “Upcoming.” At the moment of writing, there is only Warcraft Arclight Rumble - there is no information about other releases on the official website as of yet.

Warcraft Arclight Rumble

Even though there was a lot of information about this game being canceled, it's already in the last stages of development at the moment of writing. Some content creators have already tried out this game. For example, MrGM played Warcraft Arclight Rumble 5 months ago - a few days after Blizzard revealed this game.

Unfortunately, no official information is available yet as to when this game will be released. I believe that it will be in late 2022 or early 2023, because the developers have worked on the project for more than 6 months - that's enough to develop necessary updates and fix glaring bugs.

Additionally, this game is currently in its beta test phase, so there is no doubt that it will be released soon.

UNCONFIRMED BLIZZARD MOBILE GAMES

Even though there are some discussions about the release of every Blizzard game on mobile, it can be pretty tricky to see which ones are real and which ones are just keeping people's hopes up as hoaxes.

Overwatch

One of the games most likely to be released is Overwatch. Rumours about it have been on the web since 2021. Moreover, during The Four Horsemen Podcast, Richard Lewis revealed that Blizzard planned to release Overwatch Mobile with Overwatch 2 simultaneously. He says the following, “Blizzard wanted a mobile version of the game to be ready to go when Overwatch 2 was released to announce it before the game’s release.”

OW 2 is already out, so we might expect OW 2 mobile to hit the stores if Blizzard decides it's worth it. Since Diablo Immortal has already earned over $200 million, we all know in which direction they might just be heading.

Diablo IV

Some people said that Diablo IV would be modernised for mobile devices as well. Some popular gaming news websites even reposted this information. However, this information does not seem to be true. Diablo's Community Manager Adam Fletcher said that Diablo 4 was built strictly for PC and consoles. Therefore, you should not wait for this game on mobile devices. If you want to enjoy Diablo on smartphones, play Diablo Immortal.

World of Warcraft

And the last game that I want to touch on in this article is World of Warcraft. The news about the canceled release of this game upset the video games industry this year. Even Bloomberg has written an article about the canceled release.

Over 100 developers had been working on Warcraft mobile for 3 years, so it seemed evident that the project was ready to be released on a closed beta test. But money always matters. The fact is that Blizzard and NetEase had significant disagreements on the financial part of the game. As a result, NetEase disbanded all developers working on the project.

At the moment of writing, the game is frozen. There is no official news about it, but in the future, Blizzard and NetEase might find a compromise and release the game. Of course, nobody knows for sure.
