3G iPhone lies, telecom deceit, garish mobile video goggles...
It can only be the weekly Pocket Picks round-up

Our sister site Pocket Picks had it all this week, even if it wasn't the busiest of times news-wise.
Kicking off the week in dubious style was news that Deutsche Telekom has been caught peeping on its employees' wireless and landline calls in order to try and pinpoint the source of information leaks during key restructuring periods. Naughty, naughty.
Then there were some more potentially spurious 3G iPhone photos. They certainly look like the real deal but there's just no telling these days with all of those devious Photoshop gurus around. You'd be forgiven for thinking that solar powered iPhones and the Safari browser being made available on Samsung handsets were tall tales too, though in both cases you'd be wrong.
Typically, that wasn't all the iPhone had to offer news-wise this past seven days, with a very eye catching Google Earth style geographic map browser called earthscape strutting its stuff, complete with all of the touchscreen and accelerometer based extras you would rightly expect.
Lastly from the iPhone camp, a slightly unattractive looking (but undeniably useful) peripheral called the iControlpad came to light. Slotting onto an iPhone, the iControlpad turns it into a games console resembling nothing more so than a PSP.
Moving onto one of Apple's big rivals, Google made good use of its keynote opportunity at I/O to show off just a few of Android's most impressive tricks including a very fancy looking augmented reality version of Google Earth.
In other software news, Truphone added a new feature to its mobile VoIP service called Truphone Anywhere, which incredibly, allows you to make VoIP calls without the use of a wi-fi connection. Opera also beefed up its wares, adding Google Gears support for its mobile web browser and so enabling you to use web applications offline when you're caught short in the connectivity stakes.
And lastly, a couple of less-than-expected hardware advances in the mobile realm. The first being a teensy weensy USB keyboard for use with mobile phones, so you can kiss goodbye to sore fingers and thumbs from excessive QWERTY use (or a sore shoulder from lugging a laptop around).
And then there's those aforementioned video goggles. Manufactured by Myvu and soon to be distributed by O2, they may be great for watching naughty films on the sly but they sure do look daft.
A rollercoaster ride as always (though not if you want to use your handset at Alton Towers). Click 'Track It!' to catch next week's Pocket Picks round-up.
