Other than footballer and astronaut, a role within the emergency services is the dream job of most children. Being a police officer or a firefighter seems ace when you're six, even if a few years later you decide getting shot / burnt isn't for you, and head off to The City to make millions from hedge funds.

However, Player X is tapping into those childhood dreams with its new mobile game – which is lucky really, as Hedge Fund Manager would be rather dull. Instead, Emergency Mayhem puts you at the wheel of police cars, fire engines and ambulances, tasked with the job of keeping your fellow citizens safe, happy and unscorched.

The game is made up of driving sections where you zoom through the streets, complete with wailing siren, and six mini-games based around various emergencies. Weirdly, you earn money according to how well you play the mini-games. No wonder firefighters keep striking in the real world.

The mini-games include Radical CPR, Wheelchair Dash and Hostage Situation, with all of them boasting simple controls. Complete the main game, and you'll unlock a Challenge Mode to play them individually.

Emergency Mayhem sounds fun, so we're looking forward to getting our hands on it. Click 'Track It!' for an alert when we review it.
