Eliminate 1.1 is out now on App Store

The first game to prove that the freemium business model works on the iPhone, ngmoco's online shooter Eliminate has received its first update.

Version 1.1 brings a new map (an arctic themed environment called Knox), it increases the cap on player ranks from 50 to 70, as well as adding new armour modifications, new skins and other customisation abilities.

Interestingly, one such option is the ability to try out prototype armour sets that have already been tweaked and upgraded, as opposed to you having to spend your in-game credits upgrading them yourself and then finding out you don't like the approach you've taken.

However, you will be forced to download the upgrade before you can play Eliminate online to ensure everyone's playing from the same hymn sheet.
