Eighth Era adds new PvP combat mode in latest update
Enter the Arena

- Eighth Era from developer Nice Gang is set to add PvP
- The new mode will let you compete against other players once you reach level 9
- Eighth Era is known for hosting in-game tournaments with real-world rewards
There's a myriad of ways to cap off the development of your latest release. Perhaps with a celebration? Or an exclusive character? Well if you're developer Nice Gang then you're more likely to decide to give your players the opportunity to beat the stuffing out of one another.
Marking their official launch, Nice Gang's squad-based RPG Eighth Era has now integrated a new Arena mode. By reaching level 9, you'll be able to take on other players in asynchronous combat by building your ideal team from their roster of 50 heroes. The update also introduces end-of-season rewards, faction bonuses and the announcement of season two coming in late April.
But perhaps the most distinctive feature of Eighth Era is that of the in-game tournaments that offer real-world rewards. And no, I don't mean NFTs or anything like that, but actual physical trophies. It seems Eighth Era is complementing this new update with their most out-there partnership yet.

Eighth Era is set to team up with the US Mint - yes, the actual United States official mint. More than that, the new Era Vault event will either provide participants with a chance to win a discounted price for a Silver Eagle bullion coin (the thing you pick up in Bioshock Infinite) or actually get one for free.
It's definitely interesting, and I have no doubt that it's probably a bit more appealing to the layman than blockchain. Even if I can't imagine the intensity of competition these kinds of rewards encourage.
