Earthworm Jim gets a release date for iPhone

The super suit is falling - get ready to catch it

Back in August, it was revealed that French mobile gaming giant Gameloft had snagged the rights to bring the classic Mega Drive platforming hero Earthworm Jim to a host of new platforms, including the iPhone.

We managed to get our slimy hands on that fantastic, chewy length of worm flesh at this year's GamesCom, which proved the worm in a super suit still has what it takes to whip us up into a groovy gaming frenzy.

And the good news is that we don't have to wait much longer for Jim's head to pop up out of the App Store soil. Gameloft has just announced that Earthworm Jim will be available for the iPhone on October 21st.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
