We've being following Gameloft's hack 'n' slash dungeon crawler with a keen, lidless eye – wreathed with flame – for quite some time now, and were quite distraught when Dungeon Hunter disappeared unceremoniously from the App Store after less than 24 hours.

The French mobile gaming giant hasn't commented on what exactly the problem was, though it seems to be related to an incompatibility with the recent 3.1.1 iPhone firmware update.

When players running the latest iPhone software attempted to load a certain level, Dungeon Hunter would crash. As aggravating as this undoubtedly was, it was also reassuring to see Gameloft take immediate and decisive action by removing the game while it attempted to figure out what was wrong.

Anyway, the good news is that Dungeon Hunter is now back on the App Store in all its glory, and Gameloft promises a slick and stable Diablo-esque hack'n'slash experience.

Anyone who bought the game prior to it being pulled can update their game for free right away, so don't waste any time getting back into those enemy infested dungeons.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
